The work behind the five.

How we choose

We reduce a crowded category to five recommendations based on evidence, use case and honest trade-offs.

01

Research first

We compare specifications, professional reviews, long-term owner feedback, product history, pricing and current availability. We do not claim hands-on testing unless a product has genuinely been tested by us.

02

Different jobs, not five clones

The shortlist should solve distinct needs: often best overall, best value, best premium, best design or specialist use, and best budget. A label only appears when it helps someone decide.

03

Editorial independence

Affiliate relationships never determine rank. Sponsored work, if introduced later, will be clearly labelled and kept separate from editorial recommendations.

04

Keeping guides useful

We record when pricing and availability were last checked and revisit guides as categories change. A good guide can remove a product as confidently as it adds one.
